Get your wedding dress cleaned as soon after your wedding day as possible. The longer the stains sit on your garment, the harder they are to remove so if you have fresh sweat, dirt, food, wine, etc. on your dress, we highly recommend you bring it to a professional cleaning specialist 24-48 hours after wear for maximum results. Make plans to drop it off before your honeymoon!
Wedding dresses are extremely delicate and unlike regular formal gowns so make sure you select a drycleaner that has extensive experience with wedding gowns. They require special machinery, soaps and hand treatment that many drycleaners don’t have access to. We customize cleanings for each dress based on the unique fabric, stains and embellishments so every one is handled with the utmost care.
After you’ve had your dress cleaned, have it packaged in a preservation box with acid-free tissue paper to keep it from yellowing over time. You’ll notice that many wedding gowns that have not been treated properly will quickly yellow. That is due to the natural chemical reaction that occurs when a dress is left in a garment bag. The acid-free tissue paper and specially made preservation box will keep your dress fresh for years to come.
After your dress is cleaned and preserved properly, place it in a cool and dry place. Avoid storing it in attics or basements as moisture and sun can damage the garment.
If you wore your dress for bridals and just want it freshened up before the big day, you can request a “press-only” service. If you plan to take bridals outside, protect the bottom of your dress and train by laying a white bed sheet underneath the dress.
Our wedding dress cleanings start at $150. For a free estimate, feel free to email us or message a photo of your dress on Facebook or Instagram.
